I Am The Lord Of The Sabbath

In all three instances jesus is referring to himself as the lord of the sabbath or as mark records it the son of man is lord even of the sabbath mark 2 28.

In these verses jesus is proclaiming that he is the one who exercises authority even over the rules and regulations that govern the sabbath day. He also calls himself the son of man and lord of the sabbath mark 2 28. Son of man was jesus favorite self designation and his use of it is drawn primarily from daniel 7 13 14 where one like a son of man receives an everlasting universal kingdom see mark 13 24 27. God gave the sabbath day to keep as a sign between himself and israel that ye may know that i am the lord that doth sanctify you by observing the sabbath israel would give a testimony that he was their god and they were his people who would always acknowledge the day on which he rested after finishing creation so please stop trying to teach others that observance of the law makes us.
